Live from the heart and experience real joy.
What exactly does that mean? And, am I living from my heart?
I received this guidance two days in row– “live authentically in order to live from your heart. In this place, you will find real joy.”
The heart guides you to your soul calling-the purpose you were born to do. When you have a closed heart, caused by past pain and trauma, the heart becomes guarded and closed up.
We put on false masks to please others, to fit in and to be accepted. Driven by the need for security, we cling to our groups and our tribes, following the dominant belief system that is ingrained as truth.
Stepping away from these group truths is viewed as dangerous so when you have a calling to another path, you are quickly instilled with a sense of fear. Statements such as, “That won’t bring you money” or “There are lots of people doing that” give messages of “you aren’t enough to do the things you want”. <Yikes…better stay with the group consciousness!!>
These messages are meant as a form of protection-a way to shield you from the big bad world. Because only the tribe accepts you as you are, and its in the way they think is best for the tribe as a whole.
We have been pained because our own tribe doesn’t think highly enough of us to do what we truly want. We put on the mask. We go into hiding. Living a mundane life and closing off the energy of our hearts.
Taking off the mask is hard. We are put in a vulnerable place. Questioning if we will be loved and accepted for who we truly are. This is a scary process.
But, it is worth the risk because true happiness is found in living from your authentic self.
For me, the journey of uncovering my purpose, and living my authentic self, has been filled with tears and struggles. But, it has also contained the best freakin moments of my life and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.
As I examined the above statement, I see I am, at times, still wearing the mask. Still in the process of finding the courage to fully step into my purpose.
I see the statement as a guiding light to find ways to love myself more, to give myself what I need to be strong and to follow the calling of my heart.
This journey unfolds in steps, dictated by when the Universe deems you ready. Lessons will be given in forms of experiences for you to learn and grow. You have to be strong, courageous and fearlessly fearful to go on this journey. You will feel alone, isolated and may cry a lot. Some might get angry or frustrated. As my mentor Patty Jackson often says, “This is normal human stuff.”
And, I add-“Its all going to be ok. Life is working for you.”
Open your heart, go on the journey, find what brings you joy.
My love and light xoxo
