My life experience has had me face the challenge of anxiety and depression. At times, my emotions would be overwhelming, leaving me with a feeling of isolation and helplessness. In 2006, through the book, “There is a Spiritual Solution for Every Problem” by Wayne Dyer, I discovered I was responsible for my outlook on life and that to live a happy, positive life it was up to me; the choice was MINE. With this thought, my attitude shifted and I focused on being more kind, loving and positive. As a result, my world opened up in profound ways. I started to practice meditation, read self-help books for growth and used writing to sort my feelings. At the same time, I started practicing Yoga. At first, this was for the physical aspect but eventually, it turned spiritual. My yoga mat was a safe haven that provided a refuge to spill my emotions and release heavy energy as well as promote self-love and acceptance.
Through the practices above, I found my power, and re-invented myself into the strong, self-confident woman that was lying dormant within me. My life experiences have made me the compassionate, kind hearted person I am today. I strive to find methods in overcoming the fears and blocks that hold me back, and by doing so, free up the creative energy to breathe life into my dreams.
